For my second trip in August, immediately after returning from Williamsburg, VA, I dropped off my suitcase from that vacation, grabbed another suitcase already packed with cloths, along with my scrapbooking bags, I rested for about two hours to let the rush hour traffic die down. At which point I headed up to Baltimore for Caryn’s Diva Crop, along with my NYC tablemates Aunt Pat, Joy and Natalie (Camille, our fearless leader was in Florida, for a Softball Tournament – can you believe she would rather play softball, then scrapbook – What’s Up With That?!?!). As always it was a blast!
For my third trip in August, I spent a long weekend with the Steward Family in Fredericksburg, VA with my nephew Matthew (3 years old). A least twice a year I visit with them for a long weekend, although we both would like it to be more (now that school is finished I may try to go more often). The Steward Family is my second family here in the South (the Mayo/Bonaparte’s are my second family in the North). I have known Valerie and her husband for over 20 years, and they are two of my best friends. They have three (3), oops I mean four (4) beautiful children, Vanessa (21), Stephen (16), Jaren (11), and the latest addition Benjamin who is going to be three this month (you see how I made an oops with the number of children they have). I love these children and they are known by all as my niece and nephews, and they proudly call and tell everyone I am there Aunt Lisa.
During my visit with them I was left home with my two youngest nephews while the family went to church, and I have to say it turned out to be uneventful. Although for a brief moment the house got real quiet and I didn’t know where the two boys had gone. However, I quickly breathed a sigh of relief when I found them both upstairs playing nicely in Benjamin’s room – although they had made a hot mess of the room.
My adventure continues…
