Where Did October Go?

I can’t believe a month has passed since my last update, especially since I get on others about not keeping their blogs updated.

This is a quick check in to let you know I am okay and a brief update about what has been going on. This time of year is my busy season at work, and I’m usually working 10+ hours a day during the week and on the weekend. However busy season is quickly coming to an end and by November 24th it will be over. Although during the madness I did sneak down to ATL to hang out with my Scraps of Color Sistah’s for a weekend retreat.

Besides work, this past month has been insane on a personal level. On October 18th both of my father’s kidneys failed and they gave him two weeks to live. However, this man is a true fighter, because two weeks have passed and he’s still hanging in there. They now have my father on dialysis, but because he had a heart attack and strokes in the past they have to closely monitor him. Everyone keeps telling me they are so glad I had the chance to see him in August, and I am so thankful to God that I made the trip.

On November 1st my niece was involved in a car accident and broke a bone in her foot. God is good, because although she was briefly trapped in the car and they had to pry the door open to get her out, my four year old nephew was also in the car, but he was able to walk away without a scratch.
