Shout out to my NYC & Me Sistahs…

It seems like I haven’t scrapbooked in years. However I scrapbooked at least once this summer with my SOC Atlanta sistahs, although I didn’t accomplish much.

I miss my NYC & Me Sistahs - Camille , Joy , Aysha, Natalie and Aunt Pat . For over two years we would scrapbook faithfully once a month, not counting the various crops, scrapbook tradeshows and conferences we attended. These are some phenomenal women, who are very talented, and were my inspiration and motivation to get my scrapbooking projects done. I can’t recall the last time this year we were all together and scrapbooked, but it has been a while, and I am really missing those fun days right about now.

I will always be an honoree member of the NYC & Me group, but since I have moved from Maryland I am no longer able to scrapbook with them once a month. Thankfully I have my SOC Atlanta sistahs, who I have known for over six years and have scrapbooked with twice a year at the bi-annual SOC sistah retreat organized by Tiare.

I’m shouting out to my NYC & Me Sistahs because it's the first Saturday of the month, which is when we usually met to scrapbook. I know it’s been hard for the regular 1st Saturday meetings to take place since our local scrapbook store closed, but I hope you ladies are still finding time to get together each month and scrapbook. After all, this was our “we” time to get together to laugh, cry, share, inspire, motivate, eat, create, and most of all fellowship. Ladies, we all know and accept family comes first; but it’s also important we remember friendships are essential to our existence and mental health, and we need to find the time to nurture these relationships by finding and spending time with friends.

Today, I am going to a crop with Tiare and I wanted to let my NYC & Me Sistahs know I love you, I miss you, and you are always on my mind and in my prayers. So tomorrow, when I randomly break out in laughter, or smile, it will be because I thought of my NYC & Me Sistahs and all the crazy times we have had.

  1. Lisa this was a great post. Thanks for the love and the shout out. We really did have some special times, I really miss the days we shared at Kim's store. They are now some of my fondest memories. Can't wait to see you.

  2. We are trying to get back on schedule with our monthly crops but it hasn't been the same since you left us for a man! LOL. Thankfully, he's a good man who makes you happy so I'll let it slide. Before meeting you, Natalie, Camille and pat I didn't have many female friends who made me feel unconditionally accepted. For that I will always be thankful for my NYC and Me sistas. Thanks for the post to remind me of my special friends!
