Although not a lover of baseball, I am a true New York Yankee – Bronx Bomber Fan. I don’t watch baseball on TV, but the ultimate experience is going to an actual game and sitting 5 rows behind home plate.
June 12th the Yankees played the Atlanta Braves. Patrick and I arrived at the top of the 3rd inning and the Braves were up by 3, than scored another homeroom in the bottom of the 7th. Some fans began leaving after the 7th inning, but we were determined to stay until the end of the game. In the top of the 8th inning with bases loaded and Alex Rodriguez up to bat, the Braves tried to walk him, but they couldn’t stop him from hitting a Grand Slam and tied the score, and two homeruns later the Yankees were up by 6.
The Yankees won and A-Rod had hit his 23rd career grand slam, and ties the record with Lou Gehrig for the most grand slams in Major League Baseball history, and Patrick captured the whole thing on tape.
In the end the Yankees won and A-Rod had hit his 23rd career grand slam, tying the record with Lou Gehrig for the most grand slams in Major League Baseball history, and Patrick captured the whole thing on tape.
It was a star studded evening being so close to the players and we were seated next to Basketball great Julius Erving (Dr. J); Boxer Evander Holyfield; and Billy Gardell, star of TV show Mike & Molly.
It was a fabulous evening with my husband and a truly memorable event watching history in the making.
Me and Patrick, the view from our seats:
