Restaurant Week in DC...

August 16th - 22nd was Restaurant Week in DC, and I had an opportunity to dine out six times with various family and friends. Although Ruth's Chris is one of my all time favorite restaurants, I tried four new ones: Potenza, PS 7's, 14K Restaurant and Lounge, and Lia's. I thoroughly enjoyed each of these restaurants, but would pick PS 7's and Lia's as two of my new favorites. I dinned at Ruth's Chris twice, once in DC and the other in Annapolis, and found it interesting each restaurant offered different menu items, which made it worth visiting two locations.

I enjoyed dinning with everyone, but the most memorable dinner was the one I had with my niece Vanessa, to celebrate her 22nd birthday. This was the first time we dined alone (I'm usually dinning with her, her parents and three brothers), and I was impressed with the woman she has become, the conversation we had, learning about her plans for the future, and seeing how confident, secure and determined she is, which I don't think I was at her age. I have watched Vanessa grow all her life, and she is so unlike most people her age and already a phenomenal woman, but then I'm not surprised, this has always been her character and her parents have done a wonderful job raising all their children.

Isn't she lovely...
