In October 2006, I attended my first Scraps of Color (SOC) Sistah Retreat in Georgia. I had known Tiare (SOC creator) and most of the ladies from the SOC message board for about a year, but had never met them in the real world. I was excited about attending the retreat, but nervous about meeting the ladies face-to-face. Needless to say I quickly found out there was nothing for me to be worried about, because instant friendships were formed, and four years later these friendships still exist and are stronger than ever. Twice a year, in May and October, I look forward to my weekend retreat with my sistahs.
ATL here I come…
